Rooted Hope: Living as Ambassadors in Exile
Jan 25, 2026 • Cory Sondrol
This week in the Rooted Hope series, we explore how to live as exiles in a culture that doesn't share our values. Pastor Cory used the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to show how these young Jewish exiles worked within Babylon's system and contributed to their city's welfare, yet stood firm when their core beliefs were challenged. The sermon revealed that their story isn't just about Jesus being with us in hard times. It's about knowing when to cooperate, when to resist, and how to bless the place where we live without compromising who we are. Rooted hope takes shape when we understand our true citizenship is in heaven, freeing us to love our neighbors well without fear.
