More Than What You Believe
Following Jesus was never supposed to be something you just think about.
Most of us learned faith as a set of beliefs. Get the theology right, and the rest follows. Practicing the Way starts somewhere different. An apprentice doesn't just believe in a teacher, they arrange their whole life around learning to live like them.
For eight weeks, we're doing exactly that. Not talking about the way of Jesus, practicing it. Rest. Silence. Prayer. Scripture. Generosity. Service. The same rhythms Jesus himself lived by, one week at a time.
This isn't a series to sit and listen to. It's one to actually do.

Eight Weeks. Eight Practices.
Each week gives you something to understand and something to practice.

Sabbath
A special day set apart for rest and worship. In a culture that treats busyness like a badge, Sabbath is a weekly act of trust, stopping on purpose because the world doesn't actually run on us. It's not about doing nothing. It's about remembering who's really holding everything together.

Solitude
Intentional quiet time alone with God, away from the noise and distraction. Jesus regularly pulled away from the crowds to be alone with the Father, and if he needed that rhythm, so do we. Solitude makes room to hear what's easy to miss when something is always competing for our attention.

Prayer and Fasting
Scripture
Prayer as a daily rhythm of talking and listening to God, paired with fasting as giving up food for a time to focus on him. Together, they're less about getting something from God and more about staying close to him, learning to want him more than the things we normally reach for first.
Reading and studying the Bible regularly as a way of staying rooted in who Jesus is and what he taught. This isn't about checking a box or gathering information. It's about letting the words shape how we actually see and live, day after day.

Community
Sharing life and faith with other believers, not walking this out alone. Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo pursuit. Community gives us people who know our story, tell us the truth, and walk with us when it's hard to keep going on our own.
Generosity
Giving away money and time with a glad heart, not out of obligation. When we hold what we have with open hands, generosity stops being a rule to follow and becomes a natural response to how much we've already been given.
Service
Helping meet the practical needs of others as a normal, ongoing part of following Jesus. Jesus modeled a life of serving instead of being served, and service invites us into that same posture, looking for ordinary ways to help the people right in front of us.
Witness
Sharing God's love and the gospel with the world. Witness isn't about having the perfect words; it's about letting what's changed in us become something worth talking about with others.
Go Deeper on Wednesday Nights

Starting October 14, join the Practicing the Way Course
What you hear on Sunday is a condensed version, eight practices in eight weeks, shaped to fit a Sunday morning. The full equipping class is bigger than that. It's the complete course this series is built from, with room to actually sit in each practice instead of moving past it after one message.
Starting Wednesday, October 14, join the Practicing the Way equipping class and work through the full video course with a participant's guide in hand. You'll cover the same practices, but with the space and depth Sunday mornings simply can't hold.
If Sunday gets you started, Wednesday is where you actually live in it.

The Book Behind It All
This series comes straight from the pages of Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer.
It's the source material for both what you'll hear on Sunday and what you'll work through on Wednesday nights. If a message moves you but doesn't stick, a book does. On the nightstand, in the car, open to a page you underlined weeks ago.
Available at Numa. Priced at cost, with the option to pay what you can, or purchase from Amazon.
