About Us
A life with Jesus that actually feels like life
A lot of people were handed a version of faith that was mostly about believing the right things and trying hard to behave. For many, it left them tired, guilty, or quietly gone.
Jesus offered something different. He invited people to walk with him, learn his way of life up close, and discover they were loved before they got anything right. That's what we're doing at Canyon View Vineyard Church. We're ordinary people in the Grand Valley learning together to live as deeply loved apprentices of Jesus.
You don't need to have it figured out to start. You just need to be willing to come and see.

Everything at Canyon View Vineyard Church starts with Jesus and comes back to him. We don't add anything on top of him. There's no checklist to complete and no cleaned-up life you need before you're welcome.
He's who we gather around and who we're learning from, and he's the one we most want you to meet. Our values and beliefs matter to us because they point back to him. If you only take one thing from this page, let it be this: Jesus, period.

Our Values
An apprentice doesn't just admire a teacher. They spend time with them, learn from them, and practice what they do until it becomes part of who they are. That's the kind of life we're after.
At Canyon View Vineyard Church, we believe following Jesus isn't just about belief. It's about transformation. We're learning a new way to live by apprenticing under Jesus and becoming like him in heart, mind, and action. Whether you're new to faith or have followed Jesus for years, there's always more to discover.
These five values describe what apprenticeship to Jesus looks like for us.

The Vineyard Movement
Canyon View Vineyard Church is part of Vineyard USA. The Vineyard began in Southern California in the 1970s and grew under the leadership of John Wimber into a worldwide family of churches. Today there are Vineyard churches on every continent.
Like all Vineyard churches, we believe the big story of the Bible is about the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is anywhere God's will is actually done, the way Jesus taught us to pray: "on earth as it is in heaven." When Jesus healed the sick, forgave people, and welcomed outsiders, he was showing us what that looks like. He's still doing it today, and he invites us to be part of it.

A few things mark a Vineyard church:
- The plain teachings of Jesus come first: We build on what Scripture clearly says, what the Vineyard calls "the main and the plain," and hold the rest with humility.
- Already and not yet: We see God move in real ways, and we also live with unanswered prayers and real pain. Both are part of following Jesus right now.
- "Come, Holy Spirit": This simple prayer is at the center of every gathering. We keep asking the Spirit to fill us again, and we expect God to show up.
- Everyone gets to play: Men, women, and kids from every background are invited into kingdom work. You don't need a title.
- Natural supernatural: We pray for healing and listen for God's voice without hype or performance. It's normal church life, not a show.
- Compassion for the overlooked: Like Jesus, we move toward the lost, the poor, and people on the outside.
- Open to change: We hold tightly to Jesus and loosely to our methods, so each generation can find new ways to be the church.
